We understand that moving to secondary school is a big step for students. We work closely with all the feeder schools to ensure we have detailed information on their needs in order to support a smooth transition.

Our Year 10 student leaders who are trained as peer mentors are allocated to Year 7 tutor groups to support them with their transition and to help them to settle in as quickly as possible.

Transfer Day for Year 6: Transfer day for students coming to Mark Rutherford in September 2024 is Tuesday 2^nd July.  Details will be sent out to parents closer to the time.

There will also be an opportunity for parents/carers to come to a presentation in the evening and to meet with their child’s form tutor as well as the Head of Year 7 and other senior staff.
