Events
At Mark Rutherford School we believe that literacy and cultural capital collaborate to provide the best possible experience of reading for our students. Whilst all of our events are channelled in our school newsletter and social media pages, please use this page to keep up-to-date with all of our literacy-based events at the school.
MRSLitFest24
Mark Rutherford School will be hosting their first Literary Festival (LitFest) from the 1st-5th July. This will consist of a variety of authors, poets and speakers visiting the school to work across all year groups throughout the week. Students will be engaging with interactive workshops, performances and creative sessions, giving them the opportunity to engage and meet with literary figures. Our students will be able to meet the writers, purchase their books and even get them signed by the author.
We also will also be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair from Wednesday 3rd-Wednesday 10th July. This is a pop-up celebration of all things reading and literacy and puts the best books into our students’ hands. We will also be allowing parents into school to engage with our Scholastic Book Fair on Thursday 4th July from 3:30pm-5:00pm. This will be hosted in our Space 4 Learning with Mr Johnson and Mrs Unwin.
