Due to an internal promotion and an increase in pupil numbers, we require some enthusiastic and committed people to work as part of our Inclusion Team, as Learning Support Assistants linked to the Nightingale Autism Centre.

Experience of working with secondary age students with additional needs would be desirable, but not essential as training will be available. Your role will be to support students in the Nightingale Centre or in lessons across the whole school.

We have a Behaviour Support Assistant vacancy based in our well established and highly respected Nightingale Autism Centre.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant you will support students with learning and behavioural difficulties. You will support and nurture our students so that they can engage in learning activities within the mainstream classroom and the Autism Centre.

The students will need support in developing their self-confidence and social interaction skills. You will encourage them to take pride in their achievements, be confident in group participation, as well as respecting those around them.

You will need to build a strong rapport with the students, capturing their interest to form a bond with you, based on trust and mutual respect. You will represent yourself as a positive role model for the students, supporting them to appropriately manage their behaviour and emotions, by helping and guiding them to channel these in a healthy and calm manner.

You will work with them to help them understand their frustrations, ensuring that they feel cared for and listened to. You will set boundaries and routines, and support the student to respect and engage in these, as an effective behaviour management technique. The role will be to support students and teachers primarily in Design Technology but also when necessary across the school in all departments.

Experience of working with students with additional needs would be desirable although specialised training will be available.

EXAM INVIGILATORS
Pay scale: NJC Level 2a point 3 - £9.62 per hour

We are currently looking to recruit a pool of Exam Invigilators to form a team who will be responsible for supervising students sitting examinations throughout the school year.

The hours are flexible and would ideally suit a person living locally and looking to work occasional hours as and when required. You must be available for a minimum of 3 days a week or 5 sessions per week, bearing in mind that you will need to arrive in school by 8am for morning exams. Afternoon exams are usually timetabled for an approximate start time of 12.45pm and finish by 3.00pm. ‘A’ Level exams can run as late as 4.30pm.

Applicants will need to be able to invigilate 11th – 22nd January 2021 and be available for the summer exams which will take place between 24th May 2021 and 9th July 2021.
