Notice of Exam Contingency Day

Wednesday 24th June 2020

The qualification regulators, JCQ and government departments responsible for education have jointly agreed that an Exam contingency day is put in place in the event of national or local disruption to the examinations system affecting a significant number of candidates.
The Exam Boards have designated Wednesday 24th June 2020 as the contingency day for summer 2020. All students must therefore remain available to sit their examinations up to and including Wednesday 24th June 2020 should an exam board need to invoke its contingency plan.

Exam Certificates for Summer 2019 Exams

Students who have completed a BTEC qualification may also have a certificate to collect on results day if this has been received from the Exam Board.

All other qualification certificates are not issued by the Exam Boards until the end of 2019.

The school website will be updated at the end of the year confirming when students will be able to collect these certificates.
If you are unable to collect your results in person, the following options are available to you.

  • If you wish any other person (including family members) to collect your results on your behalf, you must give them written authorisation and ask them to bring some form of ID on the day.
  • If you would like your results to be posted home on results day, please bring a stamped, addressed, A5 size envelope to the Exams Office before Friday 19th July
  • No results will be given out by telephone under any circumstances.

Information for Candidates
JCQ, the body who regulates all external exams, produces rules and guidance for all candidates. Please familiarise yourself with these rules, as the consequences can be severe if any are broken. All the documents can be found in the links on the left hand side of this page.

Exam Results - School Performance Table 2017/18

Number of Year 11 Students: 292

Progress 8 is a national performance indicator aimed at measuring pupil progress across a set of eight subjects. Pupils' results are compared to the actual achievements of other pupils with the same prior attainment in their Key Stage 2 tests at the end of Year 6.

Attainment 8 is another national performance indicator measuring a pupil's average grade across eight subjects.
